    Breitling bets on cryptocurrencies

By Editorial Office CVJ.CH on 29. June 2022 Blockchain

Breitling, the long-established Swiss watchmaker, now accepts payments in cryptocurrencies via BitPay and offers an NFT with all their exhibits, granting the owner premium services and access to a resale platform.

All Breitling watch owners have the opportunity to join the inner community via a warranty card and then benefit from increased added value in services as well as other numerous advantages. In addition to digital management of the Breitling collection, members with the Breitling account receive exclusive premieres and invitations to private events. Breitling, in turn, gains a documented insight into its customers' collections and can thus address them digitally in a direct and highly personalized manner.

    Digital passport of the watches

Breitling's digital passport ensures transparent traceability and simplifies transfer operations. As the current ownership can be transferred to the new owner of the watch with a simple and secure blockchain transaction. The digital passport contains all relevant information about the watch, from the COSC certificate to the movement's chronometer certificate and warranty.

As every professional intervention on the watch is logged, a complete history is to be guaranteed. From the moment of purchase, owners are always aware of the life cycle of their Breitling watch. Every service the watch receives, every care that ensures the optimal functioning of their watch over the years is recorded. Similar to a vehicle, such a service history increases the resale value of a high-end watch, should it be sold. Breitling provides a secure marketplace and integrated valuation via blockchain technology.

    Bezahlung in Krypto

Breitling has recently started accepting payments in various cryptocurrencies. With BitPay, a reliable established domestic payment service provider was chosen, which has been able to execute Bitcoin lightning payments in real time since April.
