Finally, there is some good news from the regulatory front. The FATF finalisation of the AML guidelines (the first draft looked pretty bad for crypto overall) has been postponed until October due to the volume of feedback. I have always believed in a dual ecosystem (TradFi & DeFi), and have argued many times that we need to either find and/or build bridges between them, so capital can flow freely between the two ecosystems.

Additionally, I have mentioned that mass adoption can only happen if a regulatory basis/certainty is established. It is also clear that a regulatory basis can only be achieved with certain trade-offs. Over the course of the last year, those trade-offs seem to have started making themselves known.

Bitcoin BTC (daily)

There is more headwind expected for the remainder of 2021. Especially for the DeFi sector. But for now, most of us are watching how Bitcoin (BTC) copes with all of this. Bitcoin will point the way for the rest of the ecosystem.
