How we are funded
CV Publishing AG is funded through four clearly separated pillars. Every revenue source is clearly labelled so that readers can identify it.
1. Display advertising
We market advertising space through Google AdSense and through direct sales to advertisers. Ad placements are clearly identifiable as advertisements. The selection of the ads served is based on commercial criteria, not on editorial ones.
2. Sponsored Content and Native Advertising
We label paid contributions with the notice "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" directly on the article. The sponsor is named explicitly. Such content is produced outside of editorial responsibility and goes through a separate approval process.
3. Affiliate partnerships
Individual links to products or services may be affiliate links. We disclose these on the relevant article. Commissions from such referrals influence neither the choice of topics nor the editorial assessment.
4. Strategic partners
We cooperate with industry partners from the Crypto Valley ecosystem. These partnerships are publicly documented on the Partners page. Strategic partners have no influence on editorial reporting about them or about third parties.
Separation of editorial and commercial content
Editorial and commercial operations are organisationally separated. We secure this separation through several mechanisms.
- The editorial team decides independently on topic selection, sources and reporting. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Advertisers, sponsors and affiliate partners receive no prior access to editorial contributions. Furthermore, they cannot influence the decision to publish them.
- All commercial content is labelled as advertising, Sponsored Content or affiliate. The disclosure appears directly on the contribution, not in the fine print.
The full rules on editorial independence are set out in our editorial guidelines. The commercial terms are documented on the Advertising page.
No state or political funding
CVJ receives no public media subsidies. We accept neither federal nor cantonal contributions. There is no political party affiliation.
We exclude contributions, sponsorship or advertising from political parties, committees or campaigns. This rule applies to all four funding pillars.
