    Als Dip bezeichnet man einen kurzfristigen Preisrückgang eines Vermögenswertes, der innerhalb eines laufenden Trends auftritt. Der Begriff wird im Kryptomarkt häufig genutzt, um temporäre Korrekturen von grösseren Aufwärts- oder Abwärtstrends zu unterscheiden.

    Ein Dip ist keine Trendwende, sondern ein Zwischenrücksetzer, der durch Marktvolatilität, Gewinnmitnahmen oder kurzfristige Nachrichten ausgelöst wird. Trader und Investoren nutzen solche Phasen häufig, um Positionen zu besseren Preisen aufzubauen.

    Was unterscheidet einen Dip von einem Crash?

    Ein Dip ist meist begrenzt und zeitlich kurz, oft zwischen wenigen Minuten und mehreren Tagen. Die Preisbewegung ist relativ zur jüngsten Entwicklung – ein Minus von 5% kann bei Bitcoin ein Dip sein, während bei illiquiden Tokens derselbe Wert eine grössere Korrektur darstellt. Ein Crash hingegen ist eine starke Abwärtsbewegung, die meist von strukturellen Marktproblemen, Liquidationsketten oder fundamentalen Schocks begleitet wird (z.B. Insolvenzen, regulatorische Eingriffe, Protokollfehler).

    Dips entstehen häufig durch Gewinnmitnahmen nach starken Kursanstiegen oder durch kurzfristige Unsicherheit. In Aufwärtstrends werden sie oft aufgekauft, weil Marktteilnehmer davon ausgehen, dass der übergeordnete Trend anhält. In Abwärtstrends können Dips dagegen nur Erholungen innerhalb kontinuierlicher Schwäche sein. Die Interpretation hängt deshalb immer vom Kontext ab: Ein Dip im Bullenmarkt ist oft eine Kaufchance, im Bärenmarkt dagegen eine Falle.

    „Buy the Dip“ – verbreitete Strategie

    Der Satz „Buy the Dip“ beschreibt den Versuch, Kursrückgänge gezielt auszunutzen. Erfolgreich ist die Strategie nur, wenn der Investor beurteilen kann, ob der Rücksetzer temporär ist oder der Anfang einer längeren Abwärtsphase. Ohne Fundamentalanalyse, Risikomanagement und Zeithorizont kann „Buy the Dip“ zu Fehlentscheidungen führen.
