    Die Sharpe Ratio ist eine der zentralen Kennzahlen im Investmentbereich, um das Risiko-Rendite-Verhältnis von Portfolios zu bewerten. Sie hilft Anlegern, die Performance von Investments im Verhältnis zu ihrem Risiko einzuschätzen.

    Die Sharpe Ratio misst, wie viel Überschussrendite ein Portfolio pro Einheit des eingegangenen Risikos erzielt. Sie wird berechnet, indem die Rendite des Portfolios minus risikofreier Zinssatz durch die Standardabweichung der Renditen geteilt wird. Eine hohe Sharpe Ratio signalisiert, dass ein Portfolio attraktive Renditen bei vergleichsweise niedrigem Risiko erzielt, während eine niedrige Ratio auf ein ungünstiges Risiko-Rendite-Verhältnis hinweist.

    Berechnung und Bedeutung

    Die Sharpe Ratio wird mit folgender Formel berechnet: Sharpe Ratio = (Rendite des Portfolios – risikofreier Zinssatz) / Standardabweichung der Portfolio-Renditen.

    Ein Beispiel: Erzielt ein Portfolio eine Rendite von 12% bei einer Volatilität von 8% und beträgt der risikofreie Zinssatz 2%, ergibt sich eine Sharpe Ratio von 1.25. Dies zeigt, dass für jede Einheit Risiko ein Überschuss von 1.25 Einheiten Rendite erzielt wird.

    Ursprünglich in traditionellen Finanzmärkten eingesetzt, gewinnt die Sharpe Ratio auch im Krypto-Bereich an Bedeutung. Anleger können so die Performance verschiedener Coins, Token oder DeFi-Portfolios vergleichen, selbst wenn diese stark volatil sind. Sie dient dabei als objektiver Indikator, um Entscheidungen zwischen risikoärmeren und risikoreicheren Anlagen zu treffen.

    Die Sharpe Ratio bietet einen schnellen Überblick über das Risiko-Rendite-Verhältnis eines Portfolios und erleichtert Vergleiche zwischen verschiedenen Investments. Sie hat jedoch auch Grenzen: Bei nicht-normalverteilten Renditen, wie sie häufig im Kryptowährungsmarkt auftreten, kann die Kennzahl verzerrt sein. Zudem berücksichtigt sie nur die Volatilität als Risikomass und nicht andere Faktoren wie Liquiditätsrisiken oder Marktliquidität. Anleger sollten die Sharpe Ratio daher stets zusammen mit weiteren Kennzahlen und qualitativen Analysen nutzen.
