    Vitalik Buterin

By Redaktion cvj.ch on 24. April 2020 Glossary

Vitalik Buterin is a luminary in the vast field of cryptocurrency, widely known as the founder and inventor of Ethereum. Buterin has played a central role in the development and implementation of the decentralized platform and blockchain.

Born in Russia and raised in Canada, Buterin conceived Ethereum in 2013 and envisioned a decentralized platform that could support smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps). His influential whitepaper, published later that year, outlined the technical framework for Ethereum, which has since become a cornerstone of the blockchain ecosystem. Buterin initially attended the University of Waterloo and dropped out in 2014 when he received a $100,000 scholarship from the Thiel Fellowship to pursue his vision of Ethereum full-time.

    Vitalik has great influence

Buterin is not only known as a technologist and developer, but also as an advocate of decentralized and democratic principles in the crypto world. His influence extends far beyond the boundaries of Ethereum and mint the entire crypto community. As one of the most prominent figures in the industry, Buterin remains a driving force for innovation and progress in the field of blockchain technology.

In addition to Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin has been involved in various projects and initiatives that drive the development and integration of decentralized technologies. In addition to Ethereum, these include Bitcoin Magazine, OmiseGo, Polkadot and the Ethereum Foundation. His involvement ranges from promoting the scalability of blockchain networks to researching new consensus mechanisms and governance models.
